Head of household requires being unmarried, paying more than half the home costs and having a qualifying individual. Confirm eligibility if unsure.

For a midyear update, the IRS estimator can account for tax already withheld using your latest paystubs.

Special rules apply to exemption and nonresident status. This guide will direct you to those instructions instead of generating ordinary entries.

If so, use the IRS estimator to work out withholding for that income; don’t add business income to Step 4(a).
